Five stages and cities confirmed for 2016

The 3th edition of the Colourful Yunnan Granfondo Cycling Festival has been officially announced by the regional authorities to take place from 6 to 12 November. The event will again host stages in Kunming, Yuxi, Chuxiong, Dali and Lijiang, albeit with some modifications here and there.

Miga dots the i on Jade Dragon Snow Mountain

After a relatively uneventful ride of 100km in Lijiang, the yellow jersey of Myagmarsuren Baasankhuu was shining bright on Jade Dragon Snow Mountain as the 24-year-old Mongolian outsprinted three Yunnan Development Team riders. The locals were visibly unhappy of not being able to shake 'Miga' off, but they will learn from the tactical mistakes they made. Enkhjargal Tuvshinjargal was also not to be beaten in this stage.

GC before final stage in Lijiang

After a welcome rest day, the 2015 Colourful Yunnan Granfondo will reach its conclusion in Lijiang on Saturday. Given the nature of the course, a flat beginning but a mountainous finish, the race for the GC is still open for the men's.
