GC before final stage in Lijiang

After a welcome rest day, the 2015 Colourful Yunnan Granfondo will reach its conclusion in Lijiang on Saturday. Given the nature of the course, a flat beginning but a mountainous finish, the race for the GC is still open for the men's.

Tuvshinjargal takes Dali but men's race neutralised

After an otherwise fantastic day on the bike, the 4th stage of the Colourful Yunnan Granfondo Cycling Festival in Dali ended on a sad note as inadequate marshaling led the leading group of riders onto a wrong lane of the finish street. The subsequent confusion resulted in a collision between riders, which forced the race direction to declare the race a no contest.

Baasankhuu takes control of the race on Mount Zixi

As was to be expected, Mongolia's Myagmarsuren Baasankhuu took over the yellow jersey today in the climb up to Mount Zixi (2480m). Nicknamed Miga, the 24-year-old outgunned last year's winner Lv Xianjing and two other Yunnan youngsters in a mighty sprint uphill. Tuulkhangai lost 2'24" after a crafty effort.

Chuxiong: Bonification seconds on Mount Zixi

The Colourful Yunnan Granfondo Cycling Festival has struck down in Chuxiong, centre of the Yi ethnic minority group. Tomorrow we have stage 3 here, the climb up to Mount Zixi (2480m).

Stage 2: Tuulkhangai & Tuvshinjargal unstoppable

The second stage of the Colourful Yunnan Granfondo Cycling Festival in Yuxi was certainly no copy of yesterday, but the winners were the same: both Tugulduur Tuulkhangai and Enkhjargal Tuvshinjargal won the 174km rollercoaster ride around Fuxian Lake on another beautiful sunny day.

Stage 1: Tuulkhangai finishes Mongolian coup

The 2015 Colourful Yunnan Cycling Festival took off today under blue skies and saw a fantastic race on the rollercoaster between Yiliang and Shilin, passing by parts of the famous Stone Forest. The Mongolians committed a superb coup de force with Tugulduur Tuulkangai as eventual stage winner in the men’s and Enkhjargal Tuvshinjargal in the women’s.
